NADI SUDDI – “Energy Channel Purification” 

MeetThe word nadi means ‘channel’ or ‘flow’ of energy and suddi means ‘purification’.  Nadi suddi or Nadi shodhana, therefore means that practice which purifies the nadis.

While practicing this pranayama breath should never be forced, practice should not be rushed and breathing should not  be  done through the mouth. Development of Nadi suddi is intended to take place over a long period of time. The best time to practice is around sunrise or any other time except after meals. Do I have to be flexible to do yoga?

meet-2“ I am not flexible to do yoga” is one of the most common statement’s I have been hearing in my past few years of teaching yoga.  In the initial years of my yoga practice I felt the same way about my body and thought that I did not have much strength to begin practicing yoga.

Contrary to what I thought at that time,  I have not stopped learning and practicing ever since.

From personal experience and observation I think one does not need to be flexible to begin, rather it is a mental block or an excuse that keeps us away from experiencing the new.
